Kidnapping is Sexy....Until Somebody Breaks a Nail.

When Mercedes' kidnapping experience becomes a real abduction, she has to find a way to rescue herself before she comes face to face with true evil - her kidnappers mother.

In the middle of a cold Melbourne night, a hearse pulls up and two masked men watch as Mercedes opens her garage door and walks toward her car. A brutal struggle ensues and Mercedes is grabbed and dragged toward the hearse. Knocked out during the struggle she wakes up jammed inside a coffin.

Two nights before, surrounded by the most vicious socialites new money can attract, she is bullied into signing up for the latest craze – a “choose your own” kidnapping, After a few too many cocktails, she emails the application to the wrong address and it ends up with two twin brothers just desperate enough to think maybe this is their way to a better life.   They kidnap Mercedes for real, but no matter how violent and threatening they become Mercedes believes it’s all part of her birthday experience. She is determined to have a good time. She pushes the brothers to more and more extreme behaviour not believing for a moment that they would actually hurt her. But when the meal they serve fails to meet her dietary requirements, she threatens to escape and gets too much reality. Waking up on the cold mortuary floor, Mercedes realizes she must defeat her kidnappers’ blind homicidal mother or end up as the only guest at her own funeral.  Facing the hard truth that her neglectful husband, has a secret agenda and will never pay the ransom, Mercedes has to find a way to rescue herself – and fast.

Comedy at it's blackest, kidnapping, funeral homes and psychopathic mothers all woven neatly into the tale of a woman struggling to belong, finding her groove and kicking some ass!

IN DEVELOPMENT:
FAT BUSTERS - Feature Film

Musical comedy
Created and written by Lulu McClatchy and Perri Cummings

Not shying away from life’s more embarrassing moments, Fat Busters is aimed at anyone who has ever felt ugly or decided to do something drastic to improve their lives. And let’s face it: who hasn’t?

Part musical fantasy and part excruciating reality, Patti Jones finds the strength to change her life for the better. She just can’t find the courage to tell the truth about it so it all gets complicated!

Finding it hard to fit into the highly competitive and image-conscious world of advertising, Patti “Cake” Jones often reverts to her musical sixties fantasy life to get through. Tired of being forced into the cleaning cupboard while her vain and politically incorrect boss (and object of Patti’s affection) Julian takes the credit for her work, Patti knows she has to change her life -she just can’t find the motivation. Until Marissa Jameson, her high school nemesis, and a perfect 10, is appointed as the new “face” for Patti’s campaigns. Patti has to stop Marissa before she takes her job and Julian and makes Patti’s life a misery in the process. Patti strikes a deal with Julian and has six months to lose the weight and become the front woman of her own campaigns.
As hilarious and excruciating as “Bridesmaids”’ with the glamour of “The Devil Wears Prada”, plus a soundtrack to Rival “The Sapphires”.

A fast moving slice of life comedy with larger than life characters, toe tapping musical numbers and crisp machine gun style dialogue, Fat Busters doesn’t shy away from telling it how it is while celebrating life’s victories no matter how small.

Excruciatingly real, sometimes tragic, but undeniably funny and life affirming, Fat Busters – like the third bowl of ice cream – is a guilty pleasure.
